After a cold front
Well it's not easy, but if you're determined you can put the
odds in your favor. First, the fish are still there and it's
understanding how they react to temperature changes that
can help you. Remember fish are cold blooded and will not
expend energy knowing thier metabolism is going down hill.
So, during this process they won't chase bait around. They
are going to look for a sure thing or easy meal.
I always go to large spinnerbaits & jigs with big trailers and
slow them way down. This gives a bass a slow moving
target and something he won't have to run down. A fish must
conserve its energy during this drop in temperature. Larger
lures offer the illusion of one big meal for the day. They
usually won't feed more than once a day, if that. Throw close
to drop offs that hug shallow flats. Fish will stay close to
shallow water that will warm up quickly. Warming water
usually brings in bait and that easy meal. All in all, it's
tough going and it will take a very diceplined approach. You
may go 2-3 hours without a single bump and the next cast
catch a hog.

- Slow down your retrieve
